On the Water
Snorkel Hol Chan Marine Reserve
Hol Chan is a cut in the reef with jaw-dropping biodiversity — nurse sharks, rays, sea turtles, and hundreds of tropical fish. Private guides available through Lina Point concierge.
Swim with Sharks at Shark Ray Alley
Just south of Hol Chan, nurse sharks and southern stingrays have gathered here for decades. It sounds terrifying; it's actually magical.
Kayak the Mangroves
The back lagoon channels are laced with mangroves. Paddle early morning and you'll see crocodiles, manatees, roseate spoonbills, and sometimes jaguar tracks in the mud.
The Great Blue Hole (Day Trip)
A 300-foot-deep sinkhole — Jacques Cousteau's 1971 dive site. Full-day boat trips depart San Pedro weekly. The stalactites at depth are otherworldly.

On Land
Secret Beach
The west side has calm, shallow turquoise flats. Beach bars, hammocks over the water, and families wading knee-deep. 30 minutes by golf cart from San Pedro.
San Pedro Town
Walk Front Street for souvenir shops, local restaurants, and the town pier. Elvi's Kitchen for Belizean classics; Bird's Isle for open-air waterfront dining.
Mayan Ruins Day Trips
Lamanai and Xunantunich are accessible by charter plane or river boat from the mainland (2–3 hours each way). Lamanai is particularly impressive — temples rise from the jungle beside a crocodile lagoon.

Breakfast and lunch at The Mayan reopen November 12, 2026. Dinner starts November 12, 2026. Before that date, do not plan a walk-in meal there. In-house guests receive continental breakfast during the closure.

- • Golf carts are the main transport. Lina Point lists a 4-seater from $35 for 4 hours and $68 for 24 hours, with tax, insurance, and the bridge pass included.
- • San Pedro operates on Belize time (CST, UTC-6)
- • ATMs on Front Street; US dollars accepted everywhere at 2:1 exchange
- • Reef-safe sunscreen only (zinc oxide or mineral)
- • Mosquito repellent for mangrove kayak tours and evening outdoor dining
