Lina Point sits over the lagoon on the west side of Ambergris Caye. It is not a reef you step onto from a beach path, and it is not a swim from the dock to Hol Chan. The glass floor is for looking down from the room into the lagoon. The reserve is a boat trip. Snorkel gear in the room is for the water next to the property.

What an overwater bungalow in Belize includes

The room rate includes daily breakfast, complimentary kayaks, snorkel equipment, paddleboards, Wi-Fi, and the overwater infinity pool. Overwater cabanas add the glass-floor panels and the private sun deck. Air conditioning is in the room. The transfer from the San Pedro water taxi terminal or the San Pedro airstrip is complimentary when you share arrival details in advance.

The Mayan, the overwater restaurant on the property, reopens for breakfast and lunch on November 12, 2026. Mayan Experience dinner starts November 13, 2026. Before November 12, do not plan a walk-in meal there. In-house guests receive continental breakfast during the closure and on Mondays. Breakfast and lunch are Tuesday through Saturday, 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Dinner is Friday and Saturday, 5:00–10:00 PM, from November 13. Sundays from November 15 are Cook Your Catch Sunset Experience at the Pool Bar.

Which overwater bungalow fits

Couples usually choose the standalone one-bedroom overwater cabana or a duplex cabana. The standalone room is the more private of the overwater rooms, with a large deck. The duplex shares the pier with the other duplex units. Families usually choose the two-bedroom overwater cabana: two bedrooms, a kitchenette, and the largest private deck. Suites are in the main building, on the second floor or the first floor. The first-floor suite has a glass-floor insert and is not a cabana on stilts. Villa 41 is a beachfront house with a garden. It sleeps a larger group and it is not over the water.

The property has 18 king rooms. A full buyout uses that inventory. It does not create a 19th room. The cap people plan around for a buyout is 18 rooms and up to 36 overnight guests. When to book overwater bungalows in Belize

Dry season, November through April, is the stretch most people mean by a Belize beach week: clearer skies and calmer seas. December through March is the busiest. The green season, May through November, overlaps hurricane season. September and October are the higher hurricane-risk months. Direct hits on San Pedro are uncommon, and many travelers still come in the shoulder months for quieter weeks. The longer weather note, including sargassum, is best time to visit Belize.

The minimum stay is 2 nights. Most guests who want one reef morning and one slow day stay longer than the minimum. Four or five nights is enough to arrive, take a boat, and sit on the deck. A Blue Hole day is a full extra day and is for certified divers, not a feature of the cabana.

The reef, from the bungalow and by boat

The Belize Barrier Reef is a UNESCO World Heritage site and the second-largest barrier reef system in the world, after Australia's. You can be in the water beside the resort with the gear that comes with the room. That water is not Hol Chan Marine Reserve. Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley are a boat trip south of Ambergris Caye. Mexico Rocks, to the north, is the shallower stop and the better first snorkel when the channel looks busy. A glass-bottom boat is listed from $120 if someone in the group would rather stay dry. A private all-day snorkel is listed from $1,000. The Great Blue Hole is a full-day dive for certified divers, listed from $350. A golf cart is how you see San Pedro on your own. Four hours is listed at $35, with tax, insurance, and the bridge pass included. You do not need one to stay on property. Secret Beach is on the west side of the island, a golf-cart ride, with shallow water that is a different afternoon from the reef side.

Getting to the overwater bungalows

International flights land at Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE), near Belize City. From most US hubs that flight is about 2 to 4 hours. Then a domestic flight of about 15 to 20 minutes reaches San Pedro Airport (SPR), or you take a longer water taxi to the San Pedro terminal. You can leave home in the morning and be over the water the same day if the connection is sane.

Belize's official language is English. You will also hear Spanish and Kriol in San Pedro. US dollars are accepted widely. The Belize dollar is pegged at 2 to 1 with the US dollar. Choose a longer haul if you have the days and you want a resort that is the whole island. Read the comparison before you decide the cabana is a compromise. For a lot of US trips, Ambergris Caye is the overwater bungalow that actually fits the calendar.
